Zandri’s Martial Arts to Adopt a Village in India

We are so lucky in this country to have many things. Can you imagine not having clean drinking water? Think about that. Imagine not being able to turn on your faucet let alone open a bottle of water.

In many other parts of the world, there is no clean drinking water. What happens in many places when there is no clean water to drink is people either die or find water. And often times, the water they find is polluted. In turn, people die from very curable diseases simply because they drank contaminated water.

Zandri’s Martial Arts is joining with the South Asia Pure Water Initiative to help. Our goal is to adopt a village in India. This will provide up to 1,350 people with clean water each day for 25 to 30 years.

One filter only costs about $30. One filter will provide drinking water for an entire family. Can you imagine the impact this small amount can have? It could literally save someone’s life.

These pictures on this page are from the village that my Rotary club (in case you were not aware, I will begin serving as president of the Rotary Club of Danbury – Sunrise in about a month) sponsored. This was part of an initiative by several clubs statewide to place 600 filters for schools in Kolar District, South India. So far, they have placed 400. That is now providing clean water to 30,000 children.

All members of Zandri’s are invited to donate and help us raise the money we need to adopt a village. Keep your eyes peeled for a small wooden water filter that will be placed on the desk. This is a replica of the larger filters which we use for collecting money.

This is a truly amazing cause and we hope that you will all enjoy participating in this project as a school.
